Chemoradiotherapy and total mesorectal excision (TME) is the standard treatment for locoregional rectal cancer. However, with novel combinations of chemoradiotherapy, avoiding TME may be possible in the near future. This interview took place at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2022 Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL.
