BTOG 2023 | Using music therapy during consultation: a holistic approach to patient care

Apurna Jegannathen, MD, Royal Stoke University Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent, UK, explains the importance of holistic patient care. Music therapy benefited patients in terms of stress, sleep, and relaxation during chemotherapy or radiotherapy. This work has been recognized by the patient experience national award (PENNA). By incorporating a holistic approach during consultation, there is a real possibility to improve a patient’s quality of care.
