WCLC 2024 | Successes and challenges in global tobacco control
Lekan Ayo-Yusuf, BDS, MSc. Odont, DHSM, MPH, PhD, University of Pretoria, Pretoria, South Africa, provides an overview of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, which has resulted in the reduction of smoking over the past decade. However, progress has been inconsistent across different countries, where higher income countries have implemented polities stricter. Culture surrounding tobacco use and available resources are additional factors that need to be taken into account. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
