ESSO 43 | Enhancing multidisciplinary cancer care with the INTERACT-EUROPE project

Kim Benstead , MD, FRCP, FRCR, Gloucestershire Hospitals National Health Service Foundation Trust, Cheltenham, UK, discusses the INTERACT-EUROPE project aimed at designing a curriculum to enhance collaboration across various specialties involved in cancer care. The project addresses the issue of siloed training among different healthcare professionals, which can lead to ineffective patient care due to a lack of understanding of each other’s roles. By incorporating feedback from 33 stakeholder organizations, including patient advocates, the team identified 127 key competencies focused on improving communication and interdisciplinary understanding. This interview took place at the ESSO 43 congress in Antwerp, Belgium.
