Nicolas Sayegh, MD, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT, discusses the impact of time to metastatic recurrence after prostatectomy on survival outcomes in patients with metachronous metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC). Using data from the SWOG S1216 trial (NCT01809691), the analysis found no significant association between time to metastasis and progression-free or overall survival. These findings suggest that timing of metastatic recurrence should not be used as a prognostic marker or to guide treatment decisions in this patient population. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
