BCC 2021 | Two-phased strategy for the improvement of breast cancer care in Bangladesh

Masuma Sarker, MD, Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Hull, UK, discusses a two-phased strategy for the improvement of breast cancer care in Bangladesh, as presented at the 17th St. Gallen International Breast Cancer Conference. Bangladesh is a low middle income country with a large population burden, with breast cancer being the most common cancer among females. The two-phased strategy outlined by Dr Sarker aims to improve rates of earlier detection in breast cancer by addressing patient-related and healthcare barriers as well as establish sustained development of breast cancer care. This interview took place during the 17th St. Gallen International Breast Cancer Conference.
