SABCS 2024 | Investigating epidiferphane with taxane chemotherapy in breast cancer

Coy Heldermon, MD, PhD, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, provides an overview the Phase I/II trial (NCT05074290) evaluating epidiferphane with taxane-based chemotherapy in breast cancer. The study examines the potential of epidiferphane to reduce common toxicities such as anemia and neuropathy, which often lead to reduced relative dose intensity and poorer outcomes. Phase I focuses on safety and pharmacokinetics, while Phase II assesses efficacy in mitigating side effects, improving tumor response, and enhancing quality of life. Biomarkers like neurofilament light chain and VEGFA are also being analyzed for predictive insights. This interview took place at the 2024 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) congress in San Antonio, TX.
