Tom Beer, MD, Exact Sciences, Madison, WI, discusses findings from the prospective DETECT-A study, which assessed the efficacy of multi-cancer early detection (MCED) blood tests and their effect on patients. Approximately 10,000 women were enrolled and patients who took the test did not report increased anxiety. Rates of breast cancer screening additionally did not decrease, demonstrating how MCED tests do not interfere with current screening protocols. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2023 Congress in Madrid, Spain.
