SABCS 2022 | The unmet needs in palliative care for breast cancer

Diogo Martins-Branco, MD, MSc, Institut Jules Bordet and Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Brussels, discusses the major unmet needs in palliative care for breast cancer and how these issues could be addressed, particularly for patients who develop brain metastases. Recently, there has been an increase in the development of systemic treatment demonstrating efficacy in brain metastases. Dr Martins-Branco provides an overview of a multidisciplinary Brain Metastases Clinical Research Platform called BrainStorm launched by the Jules Bordet Institute, including patients with and without brain metastasis to understand the epidemiology of developing brain metastasis. This interview took place at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) 2022 in San Antonio, TX.
