John Marshall, MD, PhD, Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, Georgetown University, WA, discusses the role of precision medicine in the treatment of colon cancer. Gene and protein profiling techniques can optimize treatment options for patients, but additional research is needed to assess who will benefit the most from being tested, and thus eligible for treatment.
