SABCS 2020 | Improving risk prediction and decision making in DCIS patients

Eileen Rakovitch, MD, MSc, FRCPC, Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre, Toronto, Canada, highlights three abstracts about ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) risk prediction and decision making which will be discussed at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) 2020. The first two abstracts focus on improving ways of identifying women who are more at risk of developing invasive cancer and experiencing cancer recurrence by using either the decision score or the 21-gene recurrence score. The final abstract discusses an online decision support tool whose main aim is to help educate women diagnosed with DCIS on the disease, treatment options and their possible outcomes. This interview was recorded via an online conference call with The Video Journal of Oncology (VJOncology).
