ASCO 2022 | Areas of unmet need for small bowel adenocarcinoma

Karan Pandya, MD, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ, highlights areas of unmet for patients with small bowel adenocarcinoma, including lack of understanding which reflects low incidence. Small bowel adenocarcinoma is often treated similarly to colorectal cancer (CRC), however, outcomes of traditional chemotherapy in small bowel adenocarcinoma is not as favourable as those seen in CRC. Additional, Dr Pandya discusses the potential of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) to increase understanding of small bowel adenocarcinoma disease biology.
