SABCS 2024 | Feasibility of app-based interactive care plans in breast cancer survivors

Daniela Stan, MD, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, provides an overview of a study assessing an app-based interactive care plan (ICP) for breast cancer survivors post-treatment. The ICP provided daily activity reminders, monthly toxicity and recurrence assessments, and quarterly quality of life (QOL) surveys. While the ICP demonstrated feasibility and minimal clinical escalation burden, engagement declined over the months. Enhancing patient engagement and refining the app may optimize its use in survivorship care. This interview took place at the 2024 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) congress in San Antonio, TX.
