Alan Tan, MD, Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center, Nashville, TN, discusses the growing role of molecular profiling in bladder cancer diagnosis and treatment selection. With biomarkers like fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (FGFR3) and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) becoming increasingly relevant, next-generation sequencing (NGS) and urinary tumor DNA (utDNA) testing may help identify more patients eligible for targeted therapies. As accessibility improves, molecular profiling could become a standard tool to guide personalized treatment strategies. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
