Dégi László Csaba, PhD, MSW, Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, provides an overview of the impact of psychosocial interventions on decision-making, quality of life and survival of patients with cancer. Dr Csaba stresses that psychosocial support should be provided to all cancer patients at all stages of the disease, as evidence suggests an improvement in quality of life and survival.
