Alberto Puccini, MD, Humanitas Research Hospital, Milan, Italy, comments on results from a real-world study assessing the link between pathological complete response (pCR) and survival outcomes in patients with resectable esophageal or gastroesophageal junction cancer. For patients receiving perioperative treatment, pCR may correlate with overall survival (OS), especially in squamous cell carcinoma.
