ECHNO 2023 | Highlights from ECHNO 2023

Andreas Dietz, MD, PhD, University of Leipzig, Leipzig, Germany, talks on the key points of discussion at the European Congress on Head and Neck Oncology (ECHNO) 2023. Prof. Dr. Dietz highlights the international nature of the congress, which included discussions on education and training programmes throughout different parts of Europe and the rest of the world, as well as differences in standard clinical practice. Quality of care was a key topic at the congress, with Prof. Dr. Dietz highlighting the importance of an effective, defined process on what should happen after diagnosis and initial work-ups, in order to achieve the best outcomes for patients. Finally, the role of artificial intelligence and considerations about patient data protection procedures were also discussed. This interview took place at the 2023 European Congress on Head and Neck Oncology (ECHNO) in Lisbon, Portugal.
