AACR 2023 | The future of liquid biopsies in head and neck cancer

Ezra Cohen, MD, FRCPSC, FASCO, Moores Cancer Center at UC San Diego Health, San Diego, CA, comments on how liquid biopsies can be useful in managing head and neck cancer. In certain patients with HPV-positive head and neck cancer, detection of HPV DNA can indicate recurrence, and liquid biopsies can assess the efficacy of therapies in metastatic patients. Dr Cohen additionally highlights the role of ctDNA in head and neck cancer. This interview took place at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2023 in Orlando, FL.
