NCRI 2021 | How the gut microbiota can radiosensitize tumors

Chee Kin Then, MD, MSc, DPhil student, University of Oxford, Oxford, UK, discusses the role of the gut microbiota in resensitizing tumors to radiotherapy and sparing normal tissue. Dietary fiber increases the production of metabolites in the gut microbiota, enhancing the immune response and increasing the sensitivity of tumors to radiation. This interview took place at the National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) Festival 2021.
