Helena Ullgren, Karolinska University Hospital and Regional cancer-center, Stockholm-Gotland, President Swedish Cancer Nursing Society and co-chair of European Oncology nursing Society (EONS) Advocacy group, ONS, MSc Palliative Care, Umeå University, Umeå, Sweden, briefly discusses the impact that COVID-19 has had on cancer care, namely on the triage process. She highlights the limitations of medical assessments provided over telephone, which are greatly attributed to patients’ urgency in accessing treatment. She further reflects on how testing positive for COVID-19 but being asymptomatic should be taken into account, when considering access to oncological treatment.
