ESMO 2018 | ctDNA measurement via liquid biopsies in cancer of unknown primary

Kai-Keen Shiu, MRCP, PhD, of the University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, discusses the methods and potential applications of circulating tumor (ct)DNA measurements obtained from liquid biopsies in cancer of unknown primary. Speaking from the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2018 Congress, in Munich, Germany, Dr Shiu provides an overview of the results obtained from his ctDNA study, where numerous deletions, amplifications and fusions in approximately 70 cancer genes were examined, higlighting the potential uses of ctDNA measurement in cancer diagnosis and management.
