Informal carers play an essential role in the care of many lung cancer patients. Here, Morag Farquhar, PhD, of the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK, discusses the importance of supporting these carers, explaining how patients and carers are an important unit that must both be supported. Dr Farquhar also highlights the unmet need in this area and how it can be addressed.
