Johan Vansteenkiste, MD, PhD, from the University Hospitals Leuven, Leuven, Belgium, discusses recent trials in the treatment of lung cancer at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2017 in Madrid, Spain. The PACIFIC study (NCT02125461) and the FLAURA study (NCT02296125) are very promising trials in the field of lung cancer. The FLAURA trial investigated the use of TKIs in patients with EGFR mutations. The progression free survival and the hazard ratio were impressive, however, the overall survival data is still immature. The question now is what is the best sequence of treatment?
