At the 6th European Lung Cancer Conference (ELCC), held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 13–16 April 2016, Keith Kerr, BSc, MB ChB, FRCPath, FRCPE, from the University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen, United Kingdom, discusses the 2015 World Health Organization (WHO) Classification of Tumors of the Lung, Pleura, Thymus and Heart. Significant changes include the new classification for small biopsies and cytology and use of immunohistochemistry throughout the classification.
