CACA 2025 | AI-guided surgery and MRD integration in modern lung cancer care

Kezhong Chen, MD, Peking University People’s Hospital, Beijing, China, provides an overview of novel operative strategies for lung cancer in China. Minimal residual disease (MRD) can reflect real-world tumor burden in patients and can be integrated in staging systems. Identifying segmental pulmonary blood vessels and bronchi using artificial intelligence (AI) have additionally enabled more precise anatomical resection in surgery. This interview took place at the 2025 Chinese Anti-Cancer Association (CACA) Science & Technology Award Talks in Kunming, China.
