BCC 2025 | Novel approaches in risk-based breast cancer screening

Isabel Rubio, MD, PhD, Clinica Universidad de Navarra, Madrid, Spain, explores the shift from age-based to risk-stratified breast cancer screening, integrating factors such as family history, polygenic risk scores, and mammographic breast density. Future implementation of risk-adapted screening could improve early detection and prevention strategies, tailoring screening intervals and interventions to individual risk profiles. This interview took place at the 2025 St. Gallen International Breast Cancer Consensus Meeting in Vienna, Austria.
