ESMO 2024 | Mechanism of action of CFT1946, a novel BiDAC degrader, for mutant BRAF V600 tumors

Maria Vieito, MD, Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology, Barcelona, Spain, provides an overview of the mechanism of action of CFT1946, a protein degrader that targets mutant BRAF V600 proteins. CFT1946 induces ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of these mutant proteins, effectively inhibiting resistance mechanisms to BRAF inhibitors. This approach is particularly significant in overcoming resistance in BRAF V600-mutated tumors, offering potential therapeutic advantages in cancer treatment. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
