Deborah Mukherji, MBBS,FRCP, Clemenceau Medical Center, Dubai, UAE, discusses how increasing both public and medical professionals’ awareness of prostate cancer could lead to better outcomes for patients. This method has been successful in increasing the screening, detection and early diagnosis of other cancers and is of particular relevance to Asian populations, where presentation with metastatic disease upon diagnosis is common and screening is less prevalent than in other parts of the world. Men should be encouraged to attend screening and follow-up events, and population-specific risk factors such as obesity should also be addressed. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Asia 2023 Congress in Singapore.
