SABCS 2023 | Novel mechanisms of CDH1 inactivation in breast invasive lobular carcinoma using AI and genomics

Fresia Pareja, MD, PhD, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, discusses a study looking at alternative molecular mechanisms converging on CDH1 inactivation using integrative artificial intelligence (AI) and genomics. The study was able to identify alternative epigenetic and genetic molecular mechanisms of CDH1 inactivation in invasive lobular carcinoma, including novel non-coding CDH1 genetic alterations and a new inactivating CDH1 fusion gene. This interview took place at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) congress in San Antonio, TX.
