ASTRO 2022 | Use of salvage radiation therapy for biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer after prostatectomy

Alan Dal Pra, MD, University of Miami Sylvester Cancer Center, Miami, FL, presents the results of a study of prostate cancer patients with biochemical recurrence after prostatectomy. Salvage radiation therapy (SRT) is used to treat prostate cancer patients with biochemical recurrence after prostatectomy following consensus guidelines. This study aimed to determine the typical patterns of recurrence using imaging technologies, including PSMA PET, to validate the continued use of the current guidelines, to ensure optimal treatment for prostate cancer patients with biochemical recurrence after prostatectomy. This interview took place at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) 2022 Congress in San Antonio, Tx.
