Mary-Ellen Taplin, MD, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, discusses the challenges of localized high-risk prostate cancer and the rationale for the PROTEUS trial (NCT03767244). The PROTEUS trial evaluated adjuvant and neoadjuvant perioperative apalutamide plus androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) versus placebo plus ADT in patients with high-risk localized or locally advanced prostate cancer (HR LPC/LAPC) undergoing radical prostatectomy. This interview took place during the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
