Cosimo De Nunzio, MD, PhD, Sapienza University of Rome, Rome, Italy, gives an overview of the findings of analyses from real-world data in the Eudra-Vigilance database, a database which harnesses data on suspected adverse reactions to medicines authorized for study in clinical trials in the European Economic Area. Dr De Nunzio discusses findings relating to adverse events (AEs) associated with the use of alpha-blockers, which are commonly used in the management of urinary tract symptoms in patients with prostate cancer receiving radiotherapy, and drugs for metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). Dr De Nunzio also comments on the limitations of the Eudra-Vigilance database. This interview took place at the virtual European Association of Urology (EAU) Virtual Meeting 2021.
