AACR 2022 | Unanswered questions in DCIS progression

Tanjina Kader, PhD, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne, Australia, discusses a recent breakthrough in ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) implicating myoepithelial invasion as a prognostic marker for DCIS progression to invasive cancer. More research needs to be carried out to characterize this process, with a focus on the role of cellular communication with surrounding stromal and immune cells.
