Masakazu Toi, MD, PhD, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan, comments on the role of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in clinical decision making for both metastatic and primary breast cancer. ctDNA aids in monitoring disease progression, predicting prognosis, and assessing therapeutic response. This interview took place at the 2024 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Breast Cancer Annual Congress in Berlin, Germany.
