ESMO Asia 2022 | Survival differences in head and neck cancer between Asia and Europe

Annalisa Trama, MD, PhD, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan, Italy, compares the prognosis of patients with head and neck cancer in Europe compared to Asia (specifically Taiwan, Japan, and Korea). Outcomes were found to be better in Asian countries, with a possible reason being better awareness resulting in earlier diagnosis. Dr Trama talks on the need to identify what measures are leading to improved outcomes in Asia, so that efforts can be made to apply these measures in European countries. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Asia congress 2022 in Singapore.
