Saverio Alberti, MD, PhD, of the Università degli Studi di Messina, Italy, discusses the role of E-cadherin and Trop-2 in epithelial-mesenchymal (EMT)-less metastasis, and the impact of this interaction in cancer cell metastasis, suggesting a prognostic role for likelihood of malignancies in these markers as well as potential targets for treatment.
