Si-Yu Wang, MD, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, Guangzhou, China, discusses the implications of findings from the ICTAN trial (NCT01996098) of adjuvant icotinib following adjuvant chemotherapy for resected EGFR-mutated stage II-IIIA non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Adjuvant chemotherapies are associated with a 60% reduction in the risk of disease recurrence and Dr Wang argues these therapies are necessary for EGFR-mutated NSCLC after complete resection. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
