Prasanna Sooriakumaran, BMedSci, FRCS, PhD, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, discusses the PRESIDENT trial, a randomized controlled trial investigating the role of surgery in low-volume metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC). Prof. Sooriakumaran highlights that the trial, which will recruit 749 men across 25 centers in the UK, aims to provide definitive evidence on whether surgery on top of systemic therapy improves outcomes, including survival and quality of life, and will utilize novel PSMA PET imaging to define eligibility and monitor disease progression. This interview took place at the 41st Annual EAU Congress in London, UK.
