EBCC 2024 | Molecular features of lobular breast carcinoma

Zsuzsanna Varga, MD, University Hospital Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland, gives an overview of a published paper characterizing the disease biology of lobular breast carcinoma, which is a luminal-type breast cancer. A majority of cases are HER2-, with a small number being triple negative or HER2+. In the case of HER2- lobular breast carcinoma, HER2 mutations are present, whereas no HER2 mutations are present in HER2+ lobular breast carcinoma. However, HER2 and CDK12 amplifications are present. This interview took place at the 14th European Breast Cancer Conference (EBCC) in Milan, Italy.
