AACR 2023 | Intratumoral injection of Clostridium novyi-NT to enhance efficacy

Preclinical models demonstrated weaknesses in intravenous administration of Clostridium novyi-NT, an attenuated form of C. novyi, where an anti-tumor response was not robust, despite encouraging efficacy. Blessie Elizabeth Nelson, MBBS, DMRT, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, discusses the merits of intratumoral injection of the investigational therapy, where off-target toxicity such as inflammation is reduced, and a localized response is possible. This interview took place at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2023 in Orlando, FL.
