Paolo Bossi, MD, University of Brescia, Brescia, Italy, talks on the role of quality of life (QoL) in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with head and neck cancer. Dr Bossi discusses the prognostic value of QoL, the importance of QoL in clinical trials, new research into underlying biological mechanisms that affect QoL, and the limitations of QoL assessment methods. This interview took place at the 2023 European Congress on Head and Neck Oncology (ECHNO) in Lisbon, Portugal.
