Nikki Cannon, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, describes the current issues cancer nurses face in 2021. Implementation of a long-term COVID-19 recovery plan is vital to manage the impacts of COVID-19 on patients and healthcare systems. Recruitment of cancer nurses will be an additional hurdle that needs to be addressed, especially as there will be an increased number of referrals, and a decreasing workforce. This interview took place at the United Kingdom Oncology Nursing Society (UKONS) Annual Conference 2021.
