Ramya Ramaswami, MBBS, MPH, National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, MD, discusses a Phase I/II study (NCT04941274) of abemaciclib in patients with HIV-associated and HIV-negative Kaposi sarcoma. Abemaciclib was generally well tolerated, with neutropenia and gastrointestinal effects as the most common adverse events. Partial responses were observed in a majority of evaluable participants, including those with prior therapy. These findings support further investigation of CDK4/6 inhibition as a potential therapeutic strategy in Kaposi sarcoma. This interview took place during the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
