Elisa Agostinetto, MD, Jules Bordet Institute, Brussels, Belgium, discusses findings from a multicenter retrospective cohort study (NCT03673306) involving women aged under 40 years with early-stage breast cancer and BRCA1/2 germline pathogenic variants. The study analyzed differences in disease-free and overall survival between ductal and lobular histologies. A pure lobular histology was more often associated with BRCA2 variants and higher disease stages, and despite histologic differences, there were no significant differences in disease-free or overall survival between ductal and lobular tumors. This interview took place at the 2024 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Breast Cancer Annual Congress in Berlin, Germany.
