ESMO 2023 | The benefits of mpMRI over conventional MRI imaging in oncology

Kinga Bernatowicz, PhD, Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology, Barcelona, Spain, compares and contrasts multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) and conventional MRI imaging, as well as the advantages of the former in assessing the tumor microenvironment. Whilst standard MRI imaging can provide information on tumor burden, mpMRI can provide diffusion- and perfusion-weighted images, enabling analysis of the tissue microstructure and microvasculature. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2023 Congress in Madrid, Spain.
