SABCS 2023 | Advancing precision medicine: cell-free DNA fragment omics in metastatic HER2-negative breast cancer

Marina N. Sharifi, MD, University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, Madison, WI, discusses research in the field of cell-free DNA fragment omics for patients with metastatic HER2-negative breast cancer. Most assays in this field are currently in the validation phase, aiming to understand their effectiveness in clinical decision-making and endpoints. Dr Sharifi emphasizes the potential power of these tools in ensuring precise and timely treatments for individual patients. However, she acknowledges that the transition from validation to clinical application requires further research and development. This interview was conducted at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) congress in San Antonio, TX.
