Jacques Grill, MD PhD, Gustave Roussy Cancer Institute, Paris, France, outlines the impact of the enhanced biological understanding of diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG). Adult patients with DIPG have been historically misdiagnosed with high-grade gliomas and as a result, ineffective treatments were prescribed. Dr Grill emphasises the need for more effective targeted therapies specific to the biological alterations recently found in DIPG tumours. This interview took place during the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2023 Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL.
