Suneel Kamath, MD, Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute, Cleveland, OH, discusses the relationship between cancer research funding and subsequent clinical trial development. He highlights the negative feedback loop forming, with results finding funding to be aligned with incidence rates but not the high mortality rate of common cancers, resulting in fewer clinical trials and consequently slower progress. This interview took place at the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) meeting in Chicago, IL.
