Ronald Chen, MD, MPH, University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS, comments on the findings from the Phase III PRESTO trial (NCT03009981), which assessed intensified androgen receptor blockade in patients with biochemically relapsed prostate cancer post-radical prostatectomy. Addition of apalutamide to androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) improved PSA control without compromising quality of life, showing that intensifying treatment can benefit patients, with can also result in fewer subsequent treatments. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
