Ketty Peris, MD, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore & Universitario A. Gemelli IRCCS, Rome, Italy, discusses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. Challenges caused by the pandemic include delays to primary care and access to clinical trials, as well as an increased risk of higher COVID-19 severity in older patients and those with medical comorbidities. Dr Peris also describes differences in the management approaches for different forms of non-melanoma skin cancer during the pandemic.
